Broadcast journalist tells her story

Bishop_behind the scenesBroadcast journalist Judith Bishop, a member of the Newton College of the Sacred Heart Class of 1962, reflects on her career covering political milestones, breaking news, and the arts in the new book, Behind the Scenes. She writes, “It’s a privilege to work with broadcast legends who love the craft and dedicate their lives to informing viewers about the people and issues that dominate the national stage. The stakes are high and the pressures intense. Deadlines and ratings are a way of life, and the cast of characters in the newsroom become an extended family.” Bishop has had a 40-year career in broadcast journalism, producing programs at WABC, CNBC, PBS, Court TV, and the FOX Television Network. She has been an on-air contributor at NPR Miami and host of the podcast More on the Story. She also is the author of Changing Channels: From Just the Facts to Outrageous Opinions.
