Abigail Marsh, Georgetown University associate professor of psychology and neuroscience, will present “The Altruistic Brain: Making the Choice to Help” on Oct. 24 at 7 p.m. in Gasson Hall, room 100. She is author of the book The Fear Factor: How One Emotion Connects Altruists, Psychopaths, and Everyone In-Between, centered on her research on the brain. Marsh uses functional and structural brain imaging in adolescents and adults, as well as behavioral, cognitive, genetic, and pharmacological techniques to explore questions of altruism, aggression, and other human behavior.
