Father Jeremy Clarke, SJ, a historian whose expertise is the history of Catholicism in China, has authored Catholic Shanghai: A Historical, Practical and Reflective Guide. It is a pilgrim’s guide to the history and significance of Catholic sites in Shanghai. Fr. Clarke was interviewed about his lifelong interest in China and the new book by Qantas inflight radio. Fr. Clarke is an assistant professor in the University’s History Department and has quickly become a popular faculty member among the students at Boston College.
