Sociologist and author Saskia Sassen will present “Who owns national territory? Who owns the city?” on Oct. 15 at 5:00 p.m. in Devlin Hall, Room 101. Among her books are Expulsions: Brutality and Complexity in the Global Economy, Territory, Authority, Rights: From Medieval to Global Assemblages, Cities in a World Economy and The Global City: New York, London, Tokyo. Her books have been translated into 21 languages. Sassen is the Robert S. Lynd Professor of Sociology and co-chairs the Committee on Global Thought at Columbia University.
