The Boston College Lowell Humanities Series will present George Packer, best-selling author of The Unwinding: An Inner History of the New America (Farrar, Straus and Giroux), on Mar. 26 at 7 p.m. in Gasson Hall, room 100. Packer won the National Book Award for nonfiction for The Unwinding. He is also the author of The Assassins’ Gate: America in Iraq; Interesting Times: Writings from a Turbulent Decade; Blood of the Liberals, which won the 2001 Robert F. Kennedy Book Award; The Village of Waiting, a memoir of his years in the Peace Corps in Togo, West Africa; The Half Man, and Central Square. His play, “Betrayed,” won the Lucille Lortel Award for Outstanding Play. He is also a writer for The New Yorker.
